Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 16, 2026
Overview
mise ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the mise mobile application and related services.
Information We Collect
When you use mise, we may collect:
- Strava Account Data: When you connect your Strava account via OAuth, we receive your athlete profile (name, profile photo) and activity data (workout type, distance, duration, pace, heart rate, GPS routes, gear, and related metadata).
- Email Address: If you choose to provide and verify your email for communications, we collect and store it. Email is optional and requires verification.
- User Preferences: Settings you configure within the app, such as measurement units, enrichment templates, gear rules, and notification preferences.
- Device Information: Push notification tokens for delivering activity and weekly recap notifications.
How We Use Your Information
- To enrich your Strava activities with AI-generated titles, descriptions, and automatic gear assignment.
- To generate weekly training summaries and shareable activity graphics.
- To detect brick and triathlon workouts and calculate transition metrics.
- To track race countdowns through your training activities.
- To deliver push notifications about new activities and weekly recaps.
- To send email communications if you opt in.
- To improve the app experience and diagnose issues.
AI Processing
mise uses the Anthropic Claude API to generate activity titles and descriptions. When processing your activities, we send only workout metadata to the AI service — including distance, duration, pace, heart rate zones, splits, weather conditions, and workout type. We do not send personal identifiers such as your name, email, Strava ID, or GPS coordinates to the AI service.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. We use PostgreSQL for database storage and Railway for application hosting. Authentication tokens are encrypted. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
Third-Party Services
mise integrates with the following third-party services:
- Strava API: To read and update your activity data, including titles, descriptions, and gear assignment (Strava Privacy Policy).
- Anthropic Claude API: To generate AI-crafted activity titles and descriptions. Only anonymized workout metadata is sent — no personal identifiers.
- Mapbox: To render route maps in share graphics. Only GPS polyline data is sent.
- Open-Meteo: To retrieve weather data for activity context. Only coordinates and timestamps are sent.
- Sentry: For error tracking and performance monitoring. No personal activity data is included in error reports.
- Resend: For transactional email delivery (verification and opt-in communications only).
Strava Data Usage
We access your Strava data solely to provide the enrichment, gear assignment, and sharing features described in this policy. We do not share your Strava data with other users or third parties beyond what is described above. Activity metadata sent to the AI service is anonymized and not linked to your identity.
You can revoke mise's access at any time from your Strava connected apps settings. When you revoke access or disconnect from within the app, we initiate deletion of your data as described below.
Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you disconnect your Strava account — either from the mise app or from Strava's settings — we will:
- Immediately revoke your Strava access tokens.
- Delete your activity data, user preferences, and account information within 30 days.
- Remove your push notification tokens and email (if provided).
You may also request immediate data deletion by contacting us at hello@runmise.io.

You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of your data.
- Opt out of email communications at any time via app settings.
- Revoke Strava access from your Strava account settings or from within the mise app.
- Request a copy of your data by contacting us.
Children's Privacy
mise is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.
International Data Transfers
Your data may be processed in the United States where our servers are located. By using mise, you consent to the transfer of your data to the United States.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or via email (if provided). Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
